What To Do When You Feel Ignored in the Workplace
Transcription:
When you feel ignored, acknowledge that you’re feeling that way. First, try and put words to how you’re feeling. You don’t have to tell somebody you’re feeling ignored, but just try and understand where you’re at in that moment for yourself.
Maybe understand what it is, what actions are happening that are really making you feel that way. And try and ask somebody if they’re intending to make you feel that way or send an email or speak up in a way that’s comfortable for you.
I tend to be the kind of person that will speak up and speak my truth, and sometimes you can’t get me to stop talking if you are not that kind of person.
There is a way that you prefer to communicate then try communicating in that way and say how you feel. Say it out loud to the person, it doesn’t have to be your boss, to someone that you trust in your circle in the workplace and see what they have to say. I mean, it doesn’t have to be your manager. Just let them know and see if things change.
